This word is copyrighted content that belongs to me (Matt) insofar as the copyright laws in our respective countries allow. There are one or two (marked) public domain words and phrases in the book which I am pretty sure I cannot claim copyright for outside of my unique use of them.
That said, fair use applies. Copyright law is complicated so let’s all be fair and kind which is less fuss and more fun.
I grant you permission to reuse words published here on this brill site (within reason) along with their definitions so long as you clearly credit the source. That means a link if used on a website or a URL if used in print. It also means my name and the name of my book too.
Further, I encourage you to use these words in your writing. If you use some of these words or meanings (from any part of the dictionary) in your novel, a mention in the dedication will do fine. This is why I started this collection after all.
Selling derivative works (aside from use in writing) is not part of this permission. These don’t go on t-shirts (for example) with some money coming my way after an agreement in writing. You are not permitted to reproduce the entire work or a substantial portion thereof without the author’s permission. As I said, fair use applies with the exceptions and extensions above.
Social media. I made these posts to share on social media. Share that stuff forward. Just do so in such a way that people who like it can find their way back here. I’m not trying to be a killjoy, I just want everyone to enjoy my silliness while knowing it was me who first came up with it.
Look, what I am saying is to have fun and be nice. Don’t be a Urine Thief.
If you invent new meanings or use some of my words, phrases, or meanings in a fiction or fan-fiction setting – please show me. That sort of thing makes me very happy.
This is not a binding contract. If doubt or grey areas apply, maybe we should have a nice chat first. A cup of tea is optional but nice. You can get hold of me as @lordmatt@mastodon.social.
